The STORM 1200x features the BLAIR light engine (Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red) while the STORM 1000c utilizes a BLAIR-CG light engine (Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red/Cyan/Green). The extra color channels in the STORM 1000c allow it to tune to a greater range of saturated colors with higher precision, reaching 90% of the Rec2020 colorspace compared to 70% on the STORM 1200x. The STORM 1000c includes color tuning modes HSIC+, xy Coordinates, and Gel Equivalents. By not having these additional colors, the STORM 1200x can devote its power to delivering high-output white light across a wide CCT range with full +/- green adjustment. If you need precision color control with high saturation available across the visible spectrum, then the STORM 1000c is the right choice. If you want excellent tunable white light with great adjustability and high output, the STORM 1200x is best for you.

The indigo emitter in the BLAIR and BLAIR-CG light engines outputs a calibrated near-UV light. This is mostly invisible to the human eye but certain chemicals and surfaces are activated by this light. The indigo causes these surfaces to fluoresce, changing their reflective color and glowing more brightly. This effect emulates the natural reaction of these materials and surfaces to the near-UV light in natural daylight and tungsten light. Because of this, the STORM lights are the only LEDs in the industry to accurately emulate natural light like true daylight or tungsten. The level of near-UV light output by the STORM lights is very low, just enough to activate the fluorescing reaction.

Yes, the ProLock is a clamping ring design for securing Bowens Mount modifiers to the front of the STORM lights. It is a ring that screws down into place, locking the modifier into place in the mount. This solid connection also prevents the modifier from moving within the mount, assuring that optical devices such as the CF12 Fresnel or the Spotlight Max stay in proper alignment with the light. Please note that some Bowens Mount devices may not physically fit the light due to their shape.
